Nekbeth was meant to be fast and cheap, for delivering aid in rural areas. Much of the airframe was 3D printed, and it was designed to cruise at 120 km/h.
Design
- Vertical take-off and landing, so it doesn’t need a runway
- Largely 3D printed, so we could make much of it ourselves
- Light, to go with the high cruise speed
Changes after testing
Flight and ground tests showed weak spots in the first version. The team stiffened the structure and made the fuselage bigger, which made the electronics easier to reach and the centre of gravity easier to get right.
We also reworked the assembly, so the aircraft could be put together and taken apart faster in the field.
