The crowdfuncing campaign allows us to continue our mission to innovate the drone industry by developing a unique drone design. As a nonprofit organization, we are dependent on sponsorships and donations.
We do this in the form of fully autonomous drones that can deliver packages even to places that are difficult for emergency responders to reach in a short period of time.
Our VTOL (“vertical take-off and landing”) design allows the drone to take off and land without the need for a runway, which is often the case in a disaster area.
With fixed wings, the drone is aerodynamically optimized for horizontal flight, allowing it to get to the desired location faster and more efficiently. This also allows for a longer distance to be covered.
In addition, the drone is equipped with a camera to map the disaster area so that emergency workers can better anticipate the situation.
The same camera is also connected to image recognition software, which can recognize ground markings. This information can then be used for package delivery, or to send emergency messages directly to emergency responders (e.g. recognition of fire).
These functions are all being tested by participating in the IMechE UAS Challenge in England, an international competition where we will perform a simulated humanitarian rescue mission with our drone.
To make our drone fly as well as possible, we depend on donations and sponsors. Will you also help make this possible? Every contribution helps!
